Sex: MaleRace: Caucasian
Age: 44DOB:
Height: 6ft 0inWeight: 155 lbs
Hair: BrownEyes: Green

Case: 2002-37683

April 14th , 2012, marked the 10-year anniversary of the disappearance of Curtis Wayne Thomas.  Thomas was last seen alive at about 2:30 AM on April 14th, 2002, when he left a bar at 7101 S. Bell.  Thomas had exchanged telephone numbers with a woman at the bar, and told her he would meet her at her home in 20 minutes.  He was last seen driving away from the bar in his silver Dodge Ram pickup.  He was driving east on Glenoak Drive toward Canyon Drive.  Investigators confirmed that he never met the woman that he was going to visit.  His vehicle was impounded after being found on the afternoon of the 14th.  The pickup was found abandoned after it struck a travel trailer stored in a covered parking/storage area behind the building that was Hallmark Construction at 8222 Canyon Drive.  This location is less than a mile from where Thomas was last seen, and is well off the roadway.  The truck was left parked against a pole supporting the storage building.  The pickup had minor damage from the accident.  The doors were closed and there was no sign of a struggle or injury.  The phone number of the woman he was going to meet was on a piece of paper in the seat of the truck.  Investigators have established that he did not see or contact that person after leaving the bar.  They also found that Thomas may have known about the storage area where his pickup was found because he had worked at the construction company some time prior to the event.  Thomas’ family attempted to locate him by notifying the police and posting flyers.  Though witnesses saw Thomas leave, no one has been able to say that they saw Thomas after he drove away from the bar.  Thomas never returned to his home in the 8100 block of Prosper to retrieve prescription medication or personal items.  No one has attempted to access his bank account since he disappeared.

Curtis Thomas would be 44 years of age now.  When he was last seen, he was 6 feet tall, and weighed 155 pounds.  He had brown hair and green eyes.  He had tattoos including a “Harley Davidson” name and logo on his left arm.  Investigators believe that Thomas was the victim of foul play, and are seeking witnesses that would come forward now after ten years and provide information that will help them solve the mystery surrounding this man’s disappearance.   If you have information on the Curtis Thomas case, call the Amarillo Police Department’s Detective Division at 378-9411 or call Amarillo Crime Stoppers at 374-4400.
